NEW ORLEANS (Hollywood Backstage) - The United States Coast Guard has announced plans to put dispersants into the well 5,000 feet below the surface of the ocean. This is the first time such a procedure has been attempted and it is being described as a "novel idea."
They are not sure if it will work. They are attempting to mitigate the damage of the massive oil leak coming from the bottom of the ocean.
The plan does not have approval yet from the White House, but they are working with high level cabinet members and the plan will proceed immediately.
Shares price of BP and Transocean have slipped on concerns of the cost of the cleanup.
