New York (Hollywood Backstage) -- ABANDONDED TRUCK ON BRIDGE DRAWS SUSPICION -- After last week's car bombing attempt New Yorkers are already nervous as it is without a suspicious truck being left on a bridge.

Authorities are investigating the truck which was found abandoned several yards from a toll booth near the Manhattan side of the Triborough Bridge. There are reports of gasoline and smoke coming from the vehicle. The bridge was shut down temporarily and has since reopened.

Police have determined that the truck posed no threat. The NYPD bomb squad was called to the scene and after investigation of the truck they determined that everything was ok.

The Triborough Bridge connects three boroughs -- Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. It was recently named the "Robert F. Kennedy Bridge."

The department's bomb squad was called to the scene after a toll booth operator who approached the U-Haul truck smelled a strong odor of gasoline, said Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne.
