Canada Scores Winning Goal

United States vs. Canada in the final game of the 2010 Olympics is being described as the most important game in the history of hockey.

At the end of regulation, the score was Canada 2, USA 2.

In overtime, Sidney Crosby's overtime goal secured Canada the final gold medal of the Games and a dramatic 3-2 win over the United States in the men's ice hockey. Canada finally had their revenge.

For the USA, there were sad faces all around. The consolation prize of a silver medal was not enough to counterbalance the bitter loss. It could have been the greatest victory for Team USA since the "Miracle on Ice," but it was not.

As the anthem "O Canada" played, Canadians national pride was beaming. It was a joyous moment for Canada, proud host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Canadians lead all nations in the Winter Olympics with 14 Gold Medals. Germany is second with 10 Gold Medals. USA has 9 Gold Medals.
