China's Film Appetite Growing

China last week confirmed that their box office will outpace Japan's to make it the world's second-largest movie market. Revenues from a TV across Asia are expected to reach $43.9 billion in 2018. Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, revenue will double by 2018. China will have 31 3 million Pay-TV households by 2018 and India will have 15 8 million.

French Production Trending to Smaller Budget Pics

France revealed production figures this week announcing that 279 films, up from 272 in 2011, received CNC certification. Smaller budget films are on the increase. The average budget fell to €5.1 million.
