LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Backstage) - Will the "The King's Speech" wear the Best Picture crown at the Academy Awards?

The King's Speech is nominated for twelve Academy Awards, including "Best Picture." That in itself makes for impressive newspaper ads (and online campaigns). Best Actor nominee, Colin Firth, has already taken home the Golden Globe, courtesy of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

It all may depend upon the influence of "The Social Network" -- you know, the movie. "The King's Speech" lost to "The Social Network" at the Golden Globes. That's not the right way to say it, everyone's a winner here. "The King's Speech" received top honors at the producers and directors guild awards in recent weeks.

Here is a full list of the Academy Award nominees. A click on each movie below will take you to their official web site (or nearest we could find).
